We continue to develop this site and appreciate the contributions that we have received from other Microsoft customers and resellers. In the coming weeks we plan to include information on the "hot topics" such as the:

  • changes to the XP licence terms.
  • the affect of activation keys and the impact of Microsoft's real-time system checks.
  • the impact of not taking up Software Assurance.
We will also make available a glossary of licensing terms.

This site is a collection point for information on proprietary software licensing. We decided to make available our research materials in our recent research into Microsoft's Software Assurance licensing changes.

This site is a work in progress. If you are interested contributing resources to this site or in establishing and contributing to a dedicated software licensing site to assist users of proprietary software, by assisting to answer complex licensing questions and provide information that businesses must considered prior to adopting or extending a closed source software business model, please contact licensing@clendons.co.nz.
